7th Annual High Performance Manufacturing Conference
People, Plant and Processes – The Profitable Road Ahead
100 people including manufacturers from the Quinte, Northumberland and Kawartha Manufacturing Associations and other interested parties attended 2011's highly successful manufacturing conference.
The morning keynote speaker, Jayson Myers, President of the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters (CME) framed the day’s workshops by telling the attendees that there are great opportunities out there for manufacturers but it cannot be business as usual for our businesses.
The lunchtime keynote speaker, Kris Stevens, Executive Director of the Ontario Sustainable Energy Association (OSEA) discussed the opportunities and pitfalls for manufacturers in the emerging alternative energy market.
Each of the nine workshops covering the conference themes was well attended. Comments were very positive about the quality and content of the workshops.
New this year was a “Made in Quinte” display that showcased the diverse manufacturing capabilities present in the Quinte region. 29 companies ranging from local food companies, to advanced manufacturers, to fabrication shops provided examples of their products for conference attendees to view.
