Minimum project size is $500,000.
You must employ at least 10 employees and if ≥ 20 employees you must create 10+ jobs, if 10-20 you must have a 50% increase.

For-profit enterprises will be eligible for repayable contributions of up to 50 per cent of direct eligible capital project costs and up to 75 per cent of direct eligible non-capital project costs to a maximum of $20 million.
Though not officially specified in writing this is typically a 0% interest loan of up to ten years but terms will be negotiated on a project by project basis. |

- Business opportunity development and expansion; and
- Facilities improvement or expansion. |

Objective 1 - Training that will support the adaptation of new technology, new processes or procedures or any change within the company to support innovation.
Objective 2 - Training that will support and develop Highly Skilled Personnel in any area that leads to innovation. |

A Global Expansion Program (EMA) designed to assist small to medium size organizations (SMEs) to access and expand their growth in new foreign markets (now includes the U.S.). Eligible activities are establishing/developing direct contacts, developing promotional materials, conducting market research for more precise international market targeting and assistance with foreign bidding projects (for providers of professional services). |

Canadian-controlled private corporations (CCPC) earn an investment tax credit (ITC) of 35% for the first $2 million of qualified expenditures and 20% on any excess.
Other Canadian corporations, proprietorships, partnerships, and trusts can earn an ITC of 20% of qualified expenditures. |

Annual claim, submit a claim with the T2 corporation or T1 individual income tax return, or within 12 months of the income tax return's filing due date for the year in which the SR&ED expenditure was incurred. |
